Janine McAullay Bott  • Seiji Konishi

Artitja Fine Art is delighted to announce that Nyoongah Bush Sculptor Janine McAullay Bott has won the Wandjuk Marika 3D Memorial Award at the prestigious 2009 26th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards. Congratulations Janine! Here are some photographs of the event.

Nyoongah Bush Sculptor Janine McAullay Bott spent many years living in Hawaii where she became very involved in the weaving culture. Since returning home in 1998 to look after her ailing and dearly beloved mother Rena, Janine has been continuing and developing her weaving techniques with her preferred medium using palm fronds from the Queen Palm tree. Works shown are for sale and commissions are taken. Janine’s weaves are a cultural statement with her aim to expand her cultural knowledge and pride of her Nyoongah heritage.

All enquiries are welcome including commissioning weaves or if you fall in love with a sold piece shown on this site.
